Clark, Jeffrey

Jeffrey Clark, an attorney and a member of the conservative Federalist Society, worked as an assistant attorney general for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice before being appointed acting chief of its Civil Division in September 2020. In that role, he became deeply involved in Trump’s efforts to overturn the presidential election results.

The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) was founded in 2017 by former congressman and retired Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who is quoted on the organization’s homepage as saying he “started CPI to be a bulwark against the Swamp and a support system for conservatives looking to do the right thing.”
