Clark, Jeffrey

Jeffrey Clark, an attorney and a member of the conservative Federalist Society, worked as an assistant attorney general for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice before being appointed acting chief of its Civil Division in September 2020. In that role, he became deeply involved in Trump’s efforts to overturn the presidential election results.


Conservative Partnership Institute

The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) was founded in 2017 by former congressman and retired Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who is quoted on the organization’s homepage as saying he “started CPI to be a bulwark against the Swamp and a support system for conservatives looking to do the right thing.”


Election Audit—Georgia

Due to the close margin of victory for Biden in Georgia, the stete almost immediately conducted a statewide audit and a hand recount of all ballots. But one audit wasn’t enough for the Trump campaign, which pressed for multiple recounts and investigations.



In August 2023, the district attorney in Fulton County, Georgia, indicted Trump and 18 co-defendants on 41 counts of criminal racketeering to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
