Michigan Jan. 6 Capitol Protest

About

Michigan State Police estimated there were 700 to 800 Donald Trump supporters in front of the state’s Capitol in Lansing on Jan. 6, 2021 to protest Joe Biden’s electoral victory. Rallygoers carried signs saying “Stop the steal” and “Fake virus,” and more than a dozen carried rifles. The demonstration was peaceful. Rep. Steve Carra (R) spoke to the crowd and said he had signed a letter asking Mike Pence to overturn the results and to send the certification process back to state legislatures.

Member of the Proud Boys hate group were in attendance.
