Jan. 6 Capitol Protest—Oregon

About

On Jan. 6, 2021, pro-Trump protesters burned an effigy of the Oregon governor in front of the state Capitol in Salem. “The coup is in full effect,” a speaker told the crowd. “The coup is on. It’s been on for the last four years, but it’s moving very quickly. So you guys need to be ready for it.”

Protesters skirmished with counter-demonstrators and police, and at least one member of the far-right group Patriot Prayer was charged for his involvement in the violence. One man armed with a firearm was arrested for attempting to enter the state Capitol. State police declared the gathering an unlawful assembly around 2 pm and most of the crowd had dispersed by 3 pm.
