About

Doug Peterson (R) was elected attorney general of Nebraska in 2014 and again in 2018, but opted not to run for a third term in 2022. He is a member of the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) and in 2017, was one of 10 state attorneys general who threatened to sue the Trump administration if it didn’t end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. During his campaigns for AG, Peterson pledged to combat “federal overreach.” In 2016 he filed a lawsuit challenging the Obama administration’s guidance on protections for transgender students.

The Big Lie

  • In December 2020, Peterson signed an amicus brief in support of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s lawsuit urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the results of the presidential election in four swing states: Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
