Founded in 1979, the Claremont Institute has long provided a national refuge for serious conservative scholars to come together. As an organization, it provides fellowships to educate conservative influencers, supports legal action through briefs and lawsuits, and publishes the Claremont Review of Books.

Conservative Partnership Institute

The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) was founded in 2017 by former congressman and retired Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who is quoted on the organization’s homepage as saying he “started CPI to be a bulwark against the Swamp and a support system for conservatives looking to do the right thing.”

DonorsTrust

DonorsTrust is a 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 1999 by Whitney Ball, a libertarian who had held key roles at the Cato Institute and the Philanthropy Roundtable, as well as being a board member of the State Policy Network (SPN). Mother Jones calls DonorsTrust the “dark-money ATM of the conservative movement” since it was set up explicitly to allow investors to bankroll institutions and activities while obscuring their own identities.

The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies (commonly known as the Federalist Society) is a right-wing legal organization consisting of “over 65,000 legal professionals and others interested in current intellectual and practical developments in the law.” It also claims to have a students’ division with more than 10,000 members.

Kesler, Charles R.

Charles Kesler is a senior fellow of the Claremont Institute and a professor of government at Claremont McKenna College in California. He participated in Trump’s 1776 Commission, which issued a report attacking liberal thought and pushing for more “patriotic education” in America that glosses over the role of slavery in the country’s history.
