Brian Babin (R-Texas) has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2015, representing the 36th Congressional District in east Texas. A lifelong Republican, he supported the Big Lie and has worked for decades to turn what had previously been a heavily Democratic region in Texas solidly Republican.

Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011–22, representing Alabama’s 5th Congressional District. He was a member of the far-right Freedom Caucus and claimed that during President Obama’s administration the Democratic Party had launched a “war on whites.”

Ted Budd (R-N.C.) served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives—his first public office—from 2017–23, representing North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District. In 2022, he ran for the Senate with Trump’s endorsement and managed to win by a little more than 100,000 votes.

Scott DesJarlais (R-Tenn.) has served Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since June 2011. After the 2020 presidential election, he helped spread the Big Lie and cast doubt on the legitimacy of Biden’s win.

Bob Gibbs (R-Ohio) served Ohio’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from January 2011–23 and helped spread the Big Lie but chose not to run for reelection when Trump backed a different candidate in his newly redrawn district.

Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2005–22, representing Texas’ 1st Congressional District. He was one of Trump’s staunchest supporters in Congress and helped spread the Big Lie but failed to win the ex-president’s endorsement in his ill-fated attempt to win the 2022 GOP primary for attorney general in Texas.

Jody Hice (R-Ga.) is an evangelical who represented Georgia’s 10th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2015–22. He was a member of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus, and chose to run for secretary of state in Georgia in 2022 instead of campaigning to keep his congressional seat.
